We Know You Have Questions

We will have a fuel tank located at a central point of the ride that you will have two chances on both days to stop and fill up.

You will not have to pay for fuel, and cannot use fuel jugs on the ride per U.S. Forest Service rules. The cost is included in your entry fee.

2022 mileage (2023 to be updated closer to the ride)

Day 1 mileage:

  • Start to gas stop 1: approx 38 miles
  • Stop 1 to stop 2: approx 63 miles
  • Stop 2 to finish: approx 37 miles

Day 2 mileage:

  • Start to gas stop 1: approx 38 miles
  • Stop 1 to stop 2: approx 15 miles
  • Stop 2 to finish: approx 40 miles

It costs the same price whether or not you choose to ride just one or both days.  Keep in mind, riding both days includes a t-shirt and food.

When we did offer a single-day option, some people would sign up for both days, then only chose to ride one day. Later, they would try to get refunded for the second day that they originally signed up for, but didn’t ride. It ends up just being confusing and frustrating for everyone when this happens.

Yes, the AMA requires a current membership in order to ride this event. There is a $49/year membership option or a $20 one-event pass that will meet the requirement.

In order to comply with the U.S Forest Service, your bike must be street-legal and have the following:

  • working headlight & taillight
  • horn
  • one mirror
  • license plate
  • exhaust with spark arrestor

You may be prosecuted by the federal government if you do not abide by these rules.

The riders meeting starts at 8am. The last rider out is at 9am so our sweep riders can clear the course before dark!

Saturday’s ride usually works out to be about 150 miles, while Sunday’s is shorter–around 80 miles.

When you visit the registration page, we will post if the ride is full. We accept around 250 riders, and spots usually fill up usually within a day of registration launching.

Online registration will open on March 1. Subscribe to our email list to ensure you get the updates and reminders.

Yes, this is a dual-sport event, which means there will be public roads utilized. You must hold a valid motorcycle endorsement.

It’s a dual sport ride, not an adventure ride. In some areas of the country, the interpretation of that can vary. This event is primarily trail and sections are connected by public roads.

You will want to be on a smaller CC motorcycle, like a Beta 350RR-S, KTM 350EXC or similar. The event is not designed for BMW GS or KTM 1090 Adventures, etc.

We recommend mostly knobby tires since it’s primarily off-road.

We use turn-by-turn mileage sheets. You will need a roll chart holder (or you can tape it to your tank or put in small tank bag). The trails are arrowed, but you will need mileage to navigate transfer (road) sections between trails.

In short, no. There are no refunds.

We’ve tried out different methods throughout the years, and this year we are NOT going to have a wait list and are allowing you to transfer your ticket to another rider.

You MUST have the rider fill out a rider swap form BEFORE Aug. 31 at midnight.

For 2024, we are allowing you to do this. We will NOT have a waitlist.
